Feeling Overwhelmed? ✨Let’s Make Marketing Easy!

Hello Reader,

Things feel especially overwhelming this Holiday Season, which is why I wanted to give a reason for you to sit back, pause, and take space for a few seconds, just for you.

Running a small business often feels like juggling a million tasks at once, and it’s easy for nagging thoughts to creep in at the end of the year—the thoughts that tell us we haven’t accomplished enough. But let’s be real: those thoughts aren’t true. The whirlwind of wearing so many hats can make the year feel like a blur, and in reality we're often so busy that we skip the part about celebrating all the small victories along the way!

I wanted to share a simple idea that could really lighten the load for your marketing efforts next year, and it won’t cost you a thing—just a little bit of time.

What if starting in January, you simply dedicated an hour each month to capturing some more intentional content? It could be photos or videos of your business, your team (or your pets if they’re your only coworkers), your products, or even those wonderfully chaotic behind-the-scenes moments. It's surprising how much time you save by being more proactive and less reactive with marketing.

I recently shared a quick video about this on social media, and I’d love for you to check it out.

You might be thinking, “But I’m not creative!” or “I don’t have cool stuff on my phone!” And that’s completely okay! This isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being a little more vulnerable so you (or your team) can show up in a real way more regularly for your customers.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Schedule one hour each month to capture content. A simple reminder on your calendar will help to treat it like any other important task.
  2. Organize your photos and videos in Google Photos by album, and title by themes (for example: “living rooms” for interior designers or “candle scents” if you're a candle-maker). This will cut the overwhelm and spark ideas.
  3. When filming on your phone, take slow and steady footage. Your audience will appreciate a calm vibe amidst all the noise out there.
  4. Start sharing on Facebook and Instagram first, then explore other platforms like Google Business, YouTube Shorts, or Pinterest as you feel more comfortable.

Start small by jotting down a few topics you want focus on first. Let’s make 2025 the year of finding joy in social media again!

If you feel stuck, here's a free cheat sheet (no strings) that might help.

I’d love to hear what you think. Feel free to reply to this email or connect with me on Instagram. And if you haven’t yet, check out my YouTube channel for more tips on growing your local business.

Looking forward to chatting soon!
